UP Concert Chorus (UPCC)

The University of the Philippines Concert Chorus (UPCC), also known as Korus, is an official performing group of the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Since its inception in 1962, Korus has gained a reputation for perfecting versatility by bridging musical genres such as classical, folk, pop, and Broadway with their signature “Choreocapella” or choreographed a cappella, which has dazzled audiences worldwide.
Based in the College of Music, Korus is a mélange of different backgrounds, composed of students and alumni from various colleges of the university who are united by their passion for music. The group has become a veritable icon of performing arts, transforming from a university student chorale into an internationally acclaimed performing group. Led by its Conductor and Artistic Director, Professor Janet Sabas-Aracama, Korus has received numerous awards and recognitions locally and globally.

In 2018, Korus was named one of the “Most Outstanding Institutions” of Quezon City, awarded the Gawad Parangal by the city government for “bringing memorable performances in choreographed a cappella singing; for showing the world the innate Filipino talent in performing arts; and for revolutionizing choral art, thereby establishing the benchmark for others to follow.”
As an official student performing group of the University of the Philippines Diliman, Korus has also been given the Honorific Award for Student Performing Arts Group (HASPAG) by the university’s Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts. Imbibing the university's legacy as trailblazers of social change, Korus also proves to be a changemaker through its advocacy and socio-civic projects, which cater to various sectors both within and beyond the university.

In June 2024, as the group embarked on its 25th International Goodwill and Cultural Concert Tour, Korus won the gold prize for the Unrestricted and Folklore Categories, the overall winner prize for the Unrestricted Category, and the Best Stage Performance award in their debut at the Musica Orbis Prague Festival 2024 in Prague, Czech Republic.
They also kicked off their debut tour in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2025, with the aim of connecting communities, celebrating culture, and going beyond entertainment to inspire meaningful bonds through the performing arts.
With a brilliant legacy of compelling on and off-stage performances, vibrant choreography, theatrical expressions, eye-catching costumes, and a charisma that is uniquely Filipino, the UP Concert Chorus continues to revolutionize choral performance in the country and across the world.
